Aside from the obvious
(building a roaring fire) some groups like to spice things up a bit at their
outings. We don't recommend or endorse any of these activities, it's merely
here for you to see what others are doing. Safety is number one, we're not interested
in things that will get someone hurt. However if your group has an interesting,
fun "and safe" activity, tell us about it. Pictures and video are welcome.

Cheese Racing: What would happen if a Kraft cheese slice was thrown onto a (still red-hot and glowing) barbecue?
Would the plastic covering melt and a noxious mixture of molten plastic and cheese descend onto the glowing
coals below? Would the whole affair catch fire and squirt flaming cheese into the faces of the onlookers,
scarring them hideously?
Why not throw four slices on (one per participant) and see which of the four reached a fully inflated and boiling
state first? |

| Kids' Activities: Roast marshmallows and make s' mores or cook some popcorn. Kids love to chase fireflies, play hide-and-seek in the dark or play flashlight tag. Little ones might be happiest snuggling in a parent's lap as they listen to stories. |

Shrimp & Crab Boil: 10 to 20 people at $15 per person will get you a heck of a party. Add Chesapeake Bay seasoned crab and shrimp around the backyard fire pit and it just doesn't get much better.
Make sure you have plenty of newspaper covered tables as well as cool cups of lemonade for the kid and beer and wine for the adults. Start a summer tradition as you eat generous portions of sweet corn, red potatoes, peel & shrimp and Blue or Dungeness crab. You'll have a blast. |
